What Parents Say
@Rachel L.
My son and daughter both go to this school and absolutely love it. They absolutely adore Mrs. Hasmik, they talk about her all the time at home. She works so carefully and lovingly with the children. She always has a huge smile on her face and the kids always rush off to hug her in the morning. My kids are excited to go to school in the morning.
Since they started going to Maha Montessori they have both excelled in practical life exercises, language and vocabulary, and their social and emotional development. They've made so many wonderful friendships at the school, and I've made wonderful friendships with the parents.
Mrs. Alali and her staff put a lot of time and effort in to hosting wonderful holiday parties for the children, with games, activities, and food. We have so much fun every holiday celebrating at the school with everyone. Her and her staff have done a wonderful job setting up an environment that is both academically rich and welcoming.

"It's been the best thing for him" is something my partner and I often say when telling people about our son's school, Maha Montessori. He's been there for nearly 1.5 years, but his growth was immediate. Within the first three months of attending Maha, our son's communication skills improved, and he became more outgoing.
The teachers are genuinely wonderful, and our son looks forward to seeing them every day. Ms. Hasmik will surely put a smile on your child's face with her warmth, enthusiasm, and love. Plus, she's an awesome yoga teacher! Our son loves Yoga Fridays and likes to show off the new moves he's learned. Ms. Angela adds to the Friday fun with her weekly music classes teaching the kids how to use different instruments. Ms. Feri and Ms. Jamaly are extremely patient with the kids and help nurture their desire to learn with empathy and positive reinforcement. Ms. Gamez makes learning a new language fun and easy with her weekly Spanish lessons.
The school itself is clean with a traditional Montessori color palette that makes it feel welcoming and provides just the right amount of stimulation. The best part, though, is the outdoor play area! It's so much fun for the kids with things to climb on, swings, a seesaw, a mini basketball court, a mini track, and a garden. Plus, there's plenty of shade for those hot Valley summer days.
One last thing I want to mention is the community at Maha. We've connected with all of the parents, and they're some of the kindest people we've ever met.
We feel grateful to know our son is having fun learning while in trustful, loving hands at Maha!
@Shirin A.
My son started at Maha Montessori when he was 3 years old. On the day of our tour we had the best experience and let me tell you why.
I called Ms Alali and she inquired about my son area of interest and his favorite activities , and the end of the call I asked her if it's ok to bring a little gift so they can gift my son on the first day so he will have good memory from them and start liking maha. Ms Alali strictly said "no, don't worry he will like our school"I was kind of surprised when she said that however we went for our tour and it turned out amazing!
As soon as we entered into Maha , their wonderful teachers Ms Arwa and Ms Yin and Ms Alali greeted us warmly. The room was supper clean and prepared based on my son areas of interests which I found very thoughtful. My son immediately vibed with the teachers who were present and loved the back yard. To make the story short my son did not want to leave the school after our tour time. Which made my heart melt, because we did not have the same experience with another school (Sage Academy )that he went to prior. Yes ! My son has strong likes and dislikes.
My son started the school right after the tour and he loves going to school everyday.
Their whole system is complete Montessori and my son and I are loving it.
He is almost 4 , he is completely independent with potty training including washing hands, undressing and redressing himself. Completely independent with basic tasks that I see other kids are having difficulties with.
On top of all of this , they are great at teaching kids basic knowledge of science.
my son accurately is able to name continents , days of the week, months of the year and so many other basic essential topics that will help them now and in future to be more aware of their surroundings.
The teachers are absolutely kind and caring.
My son is a bilingual and the teachers were so kind and helpful to encourage him to speak English and I did not spoke a English word to him and he is now communicating well in both languages.
Every week I have at least one wonderful experience with these teachers and I send messages and thank them for everything they do for my son.
I'm thankful this thanksgiving for Ms Yi, Ms. Arwa, Ms awdish , Ms Gomez and of course Ms Alali who I can not thank enough.

My son started here when he was 2y3m old, and he is almost 4y old now. We've had such a great experience! The teachers are so caring and truly make the kids feel safe and supported. One of the things I was most nervous about was diaper training, but they helped so much, and my son made amazing progress in a short time.
Since he's bilingual, I was also worried about how he'd communicate, but the teachers have been so patient, helping him learn to express himself. We've seen such a big improvement in his language skills!
The curriculum is super organized, introducing new things at just the right pace for him. I can see him learning new words and concepts every day.
One thing I really appreciate is how well the teachers handle little conflicts between the kids. They guide them through it in such a thoughtful way, teaching them how to express their feelings and solve problems.
Plus, I love seeing how the older kids naturally step into leadership roles and learn to care for the younger ones--it's such a warm and supportive environment.
My son absolutely loves the music, yoga, and basketball classes. He's always excited to tell me about what he did that day!
Honestly, we couldn't be happier with this preschool. Mrs. Alali is an amazing director, and we're so grateful for Ms. Yi, Ms. Feri, Ms. Awdish, Ms. Alongi, and Ms. Gomez. If you're looking for a loving, structured, and fun place for your child, this is it!

Our family has had an amazing experience at this Montessori preschool over the past three years. My daughter attended until graduating at age 4, and my son started at just 17 months old. From day one, the teachers & staff have been warm, professional, and incredibly supportive, helping both of my children build confidence and independence.
The curriculum is outstanding and thoughtfully balanced with enrichment opportunities like music, language lessons, basketball, yoga, cooking demos, and more. They even organized a school field trip for Halloween last year, which was such a fun and memorable experience for the kids and chaperones alike. Since attending MMS, both of my children’s vocabulary and curiosity have grown tremendously. They have built lasting relationships with their classmates and teachers that they will take with them into life. <3
What I truly appreciate is the sense of community. There are holiday parties and special events that allow parents to connect, but there’s never pressure to be overly involved — which is a huge plus for working parents like my husband and me.
Most importantly, we trust this school completely. We know our children are in caring, capable hands and are learning essential academic, social, and life skills every day. My daughter, who is young for her grade, transitioned smoothly into TK and then kindergarten thanks to the strong foundation she received here.
We are so grateful for our time at MMS and highly recommend it to any family seeking a nurturing, high-quality Montessori environment.

Our son has been at this wonderful school for the past three years and we absolutely love the school and the teacher's who have been part of our son's growth over these years. A testament of the school is when your child is always excited to go to school every single day - to learn, be with his friends and do the school projects with his teachers. Ms. Alali has been a wonderful and caring director who has also involved the parents to be part of the activities making this an extension of your home.
The curriculum and the activities are customized to the child's age.
We started when our son was 20 months old and the focus then was more everyday lifestyle habits - eating your own meals, cleaning up, communications, motor skills development, eventually by year 3 we saw this evolve to more of every day learning coupled with reading, numbers/counting and cultural understanding. Now at age 4 - we can see him read words on his own, increased level of his number/counting skills and continuing to help around both at school and at home. The approach to learning also is noteworthy as my son loves his lessons.
We could not have asked for a better early education center for our son and a staff that has helped him thrive and be ready for the journey ahead.

Maha Montessori has truly been a blessing and we are extremely satisfied with the quality and structure of the education and the loving attention of the teachers. Our son has been at Maha Sherman Oaks location since he was 14 months old and now over 3 years old, and we have absolutely noticed his growth and development over that time. He has gone from 2 naps per day in diapers to quickly to 1 nap and then potty trained fully at 2 years old. In terms of the montessori education, this has been great and we can tell how much he is learning and taking the education leaps thanks to the care and attention from the teachers. At almost 3.5 years old, he appears comfortable with math (identifying numbers and counting) and reading (matching letters and even spelling parts of words with pictures) which we can see him improving every week. We know he will be reading soon and that this will happen before he gets to kindergarten. We are so pleased with his progress and development that we are looking to skip the T-K year to continue his education at Maha.
Another thing we have loved are the daily updates we get over the Brightwheel app where everything from bathroom breaks to naps to the activities during the day with picture and video updates shared in the app just for our son. This has been amazing both for us as parents to track what he is learning and stay close to his day to day but also to share this with his grandparents (one set of who lives in Canada) so they can see these same progress updates.
The teachers have all been fantastic and we can tell that our son has made his own special bond with each of them. There is a mix of group lessons and individual learning 1on1 with a teacher and we find this mix to be effective and great for his development. We truly feel part of the Maha community and as our son becomes one of the oldest students at the school, we are proud to see how far he has come and we look forward to more growth as he finishes his time at Maha. We are confident he will be overprepared for elementary school thanks to the strong learning preschool base gained at Maha.

Wonderful experience for my child!
Maha Montessori has been such a blessing for our family. My child absolutely loves going there every day — the teachers are so kind, patient, and genuinely care about each child’s growth. I’ve noticed such positive changes: more confidence, independence, and excitement to learn new things. The environment feels safe, clean, and full of love.
It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my child is in such great hands. Thank you to all the amazing staff at Maha Montessori for everything you do!
